Being on the opposite end of the camera always makes me realize one thing……..getting family portraits done is a lot of work!!
Setting a date, finding a perfect spot, getting the right weather, and coordinating a wardrobe. OMG!! I applaud all my clients who go through this process and make it seem so easy.
Then there is the actual shoot. Three kids running around wild (getting grass stains and all) and posing everyone before I run in to join the group made for quite the experience. I was bound and determined to make this session a success though because the last family portraits I had taken with my parents and brother were done 7 years earlier (before I was even married!). Luckily, everyone was very laid back and we had some fun in the process.
What I learned being on the opposite end of the camera is that although it may be stressful preparing for the shoot, the results are always worth it. We now have images that we can look back on for years to come. It is so incredible to see how our family has grown and the shots of the kids interacting are nothing short of priceless.
So don’t wait for the “perfect” time to get those family portraits done……….it will never be perfect! Get them done now and make some great memories!!
*~ A special thanks to Lindsay Luly for assisting me with this shoot. You were amazing!! ~*
