Working with toddlers is quite the experience! Yes, they are adorable, but boy are they unpredictable. These shoots require an extra amount of silliness, patience, and don’t forget bribery!! Bella’s 18 month session was no exception. She started off being super shy and uncooperative (which is totally normal at this age). Trying to get her to smile was impossible and boy did she want nothing to do with me (again….normal). In fact all she wanted the first part of the shoot was her mom’s coffee. We were able to use the coffee to our advantage, however, as we tried to get her attention. The jackpot though was when we found a dime on the sidewalk. Seriously, I told Brooke to hold on to that dime. It was magic! Once it was in Bella’s hands a whole new personality came through. She was smiling and laughing, but she was also having so much fun that she forgot the camera was there (which is when I’m able to capture those genuine moments).
Bella’s parents have quite the princess on their hands and I know they are loving every minute of it!
